ALERT: Protect Your Right to Vote by Mail (Action Required by July 2!)

The right to vote by mail is under direct attack. Under a new directive, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has issued a proposed rule that would create unprecedented federal restrictions on mail-in and absentee ballots.  

If this rule goes into effect, the USPS could refuse to deliver mail-in ballots in states that do not turn over private voter registration data to the federal government.

This directly threatens elderly voters, out-of-state students, and service members stationed overseas who rely entirely on absentee voting.

While civil rights groups fight this in the courts, we have until July 2 at 5:00 PM to inundate the USPS with public opposition. Here is exactly how you can take action right now.

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the USPS proposed rule regarding Ballot Mail for Federal Elections. This rule represents an unconstitutional overreach into state-run elections and threatens to disenfranchise millions of eligible American voters.  

Please consider the following objections to this proposal:

• Violation of Separation of Powers: Executive Order 14399 attempts to use an independent agency to interfere in state-run election processes. Under the U.S. Constitution, elections are administered by individual states and overseen by Congress—not the Executive branch. Presidential executive orders cannot overturn state election rules.  

• Overstepping USPS Authority: The USPS is an independent agency established by Congress to provide universal, reliable mail service to all Americans. It does not possess the legal authority to act as an enforcement arm of the President, nor does it have the right to demand state voter registration data as a condition for delivering standard mail.  

• Baseless Justification: The USPS claims this rule is needed to "investigate crimes regarding the use of the mails," yet no widespread crimes or systemic issues have been identified, investigated, or indicted to justify blocking the ballots of entire states.

• Violation of Constitutional Rights: Forcing states to hand over private voter lists to the federal government—under penalty of stripping their citizens of the right to vote by mail—is a blatant violation of due process and equal protection under the law. States are independent sovereign entities, not "agents" of the federal government.  

Moving forward with this rule would fundamentally violate the Constitution and destroy the historic trust the American public places in our postal system. I urge the USPS to immediately withdraw this proposal.
