MIDTERM ELECTIONS 2026

Our Indivisible SouthCoast New England "Flippers" Committee is dedicated to winning the 2026 midterm elections and protecting our right to vote. We focus on winning the country’s closest races through local action—like phone banking and door-knocking—while ensuring our elections remain fair and accessible to everyone. Whether you’re helping a neighbor register or working at the polls, we provide the tools you need to make a real difference in our democracy.

1: Flip The Senate from R to D !
We are mobilizing to support Democrats in the 2026 midterms by targeting five Republican-held Senate seats—Texas, Georgia, Maine, Alaska, and Ohio—to flip the majority. We are simultaneously working to reclaim the House of Representatives and win critical State Supreme Court races. In partnership with Activate America, Blue Wave Postcarding, and other grassroots allies, we are leveraging high-impact outreach to bolster both flippable seats and vulnerable incumbents facing tough competition.
Through these strategic efforts, we aim to build Democratic power from the judiciary to the halls of Congress.
HOW WE TAKE ACTION:
-
Postcarding - Send postcards to likely Democrat voters. We will provide postcards, addresses and the message. Senders provide the stamps and handwritten encouragement.
-
Phonebanking- Partner with campaigns in key races to have one-to-one conversations with voters in these critical states. Research shows that personal connection is the #1 way to increase turnout.
-
Textbanking - Reach thousands of voters instantly. Help answer questions about polling locations, mail-in ballots, and candidate platforms.
-
Canvassing - Organize weekend trips in cooperation with local campaigns, e.g.knock on doors in Maine and NH to meet voters where they are.
-
Focused Info - Post information on Congressional predictions on the website and highlight a candidate from a Toss Up state on the website monthly.
WHY IT MATTERS:
In previous cycles, several key House races were decided by fewer than 1000 votes.
Your action and support could literally provide the margin of victory!
Join Our "Do Something" Pollinator Program
With the mid-term elections just six months away, we are focused on flipping the Senate by reaching voters in key "Toss Up" states: Maine, Alaska, New Hampshire, and Ohio.
To restore the pillars of our democracy, we need to secure an overwhelming victory. You can help by becoming a Pollinator.

2: Guarding the Ballot - Free and Fair Elections - Get Involved
Most jurisdictions are facing a shortage of poll workers. By stepping up, you help prevent long lines and polling place closures that can discourage people from voting.
HOW WE TAKE ACTION:
-
Apply to become a Poll Worker - The best way to ensure an election is fair is to be the person helping to run it.
Sign up as non-partisan poll worker to provide a steady, reliable presence on election day.
You must be 18 years old and registered to vote in RI. A poll worker will:-
Assist voters with ballot technology and check-in procedures
-
Ensure every legal ballot is handled with care and security
-
Be a friendly, helpful face at a MA or RI precinct.
-
WHY IT MATTERS:
Taking local action is the only way to protect our voting rights and ensure that every voice is heard in the close races that will shape our country's future.

Part 3: Community & Integrity - How Your Government Works
Trust in our democratic process is built on understanding and trust.
Many voters feel disconnected from how their “local” government handles “national” elections.
HOW WE TAKE ACTION:
-
We host events to bridge that gap and demystify the process.
Such as "Democracy in Action: Understanding Rhode Island’s Secure Elections" with the Rhode Island Secretary of State, Gregg Amore where we explored Rhode Island's multi-layered oversight and rigorous auditing, ensuring absolute confidence.
-
Understanding Massachusetts’ Election Process
We research info for SouthCoast voters on how votes are cast, collected and audited in Massachusetts. We will also share information on local Massachusetts candidates, the State House info and the MA ballot questions as we get it. We will work with Progressive Mass to highlight what is important to achieve our goals.
-
Voter Registration Drives
Collaborate with local Indivisible Groups, League of Women Voters, and the Senate campaigns in targeted states to help register voters in these crucial districts.
WHY IT MATTERS:
Taking local action is the only way to protect our voting rights and ensure that every voice is heard in the close races that will shape our country's future.
